Is it just me?

Or has this ministry gone a little too corporate?   And honestly,  how would this be encouraging to anyone?

    Dear God, we would pray for _____, as he/she needs your direction for his/her life. Thank you God for all that you've done so far in _____'s life, and we would just ask that you make your leading clear in his/her life. . .

    Wow. That is bad. Crazy impersonal. And Layne, I doubt the phone called would get his/her name inserted. More like:

    We ask guidance for this person, please guide them and show them your will. Show this person your love..."

    Or even better : "After the beep, please record your name."

    Then later ,

    "Dear God we would pray for ROBERT . . . (female recorded voice speaking the syllables wrong.)

    That is crazy! I don't blame people for being desperate for encouragement, but seriously, that is impersonal!!! And cold. Canned, general prayers. Ew.
